Key Highlights from
the Show:
-
A Landmark Focus on Green Energy: In line with the theme "Innovation and Collaboration for
Maritime Sustainability," the most significant new feature was the
debut of the Energytec future energy exhibition area. This
dedicated zone brought together cutting-edge solutions for alternative
marine fuels and supply chain sustainability, with forums exploring topics
like electrification, wind and solar applications, and even
nuclear-powered vessels.
-
China's Dominance and
Tech Innovation on Display: China's leadership
in the global shipbuilding market was a major talking point, having
secured a majority of the global market share in the first three quarters
of 2025. Domestic giants like China State Shipbuilding Corporation
(CSSC) and China COSCO Shipping showcased their
latest technologies. A standout innovation was the debut of a smart
shipboard farm by CSSC. This high-tech facility enables the
year-round, pesticide-free cultivation of over 120 varieties of mushrooms,
vegetables, and fruits on vessels, addressing the long-standing challenge
of access to fresh produce for crews on long voyages.
-
Strong International
Collaboration: The event saw robust global
participation, led by Norway as the Country of Honor with
a high-level governmental delegation. The international halls (N1-N4) were
bustling with activity from global powerhouses like Siemens,
Cummins, ABB, Rolls-Royce, and Schneider Electric. A notable
participant was battery giant CATL, which demonstrated its
expansion from electric vehicles to pioneering "green, intelligent
and sustainable pathways for global shipping" by offering
comprehensive electrification solutions for vessels.
-
High-Level Strategic Discussions: Running alongside the exhibition, the Senior Maritime
Forum facilitated strategic dialogue under the theme "Smart
Navigation, Green Symbiosis, Convergent Innovation”. The forum featured
specialized sessions on shipbuilding, shipping, marine finance, and
technology, gathering government officials, industry leaders, and experts
to discuss the future direction of the maritime sector. In total, hundreds
of side events, including technical conferences and product launches, took
place over the four days.
